Project: Virtual ‘Nell McAndrew’ wastewater tour website

Yorkshire Water approached E-magine to create an educational website for their wastewater division. Making ‘sewage’ sound interesting and appealing is no mean task! YW wanted us to use the famous model Nell McAndrew in the site…and so the ‘virtual’ Nell was created.
Every section of the site gave detailed information into the processes involved and the shear magnitude of the amount of ‘product’ that was treated every day at one of Yorkshire’s largest sewage processing plants. Accurate Flash animations demonstrated the machinery, whilst video and imagery displayed the unique aesthetic quality and history of the Esholt plant. All the while, virtual Nell was on hand to talk the site visitor through the finer detail and to engage interest.
